8 runners in the Pyrenees
The adventure of a coach and his team towards Andorra by UTMB: a human and sporting epic
This year, the adventure takes on an ambitious and inspiring turn. On the horizon: “Andorra by UTMB,” a legendary race nestled in the heart of the Pyrenees, where dizzying peaks, technical trails, and breathtaking landscapes converge. But the challenge isn’t just about a single bib number. The coach has taken on the monumental preparation for the 105 km Ultra Trail with 6,900 meters of positive elevation, while bringing along seven passionate runners, each tackling a different distance — from 10 to 80 km. A true trail tribe for a weekend where solidarity matters as much as performance.
Between snow, doubts, and perseverance
For several months, the small team has trained with rigor and enthusiasm. Sessions alternate between long snowy runs, icy morning ascents, and moments of fatigue when the body demands rest. Winter complicates everything: muddy trails, biting cold, and short days. Yet motivation remains intact. Every Sunday, message exchanges, shared advice, and smiles at the end of the sessions create a unique cohesion. Each has their own goals, but all move forward hand in hand.
Injuries, doubts, and setbacks
Ultra preparation is rarely smooth sailing. Small injuries creep in: a sore ankle, a stubborn knee, or occasional mental fatigue. Yet every obstacle becomes a lesson. The coach, both motivator and companion, encourages, adapts plans, and ensures the flame never goes out.
Heading to Andorra: an adventure above all human
In a few weeks, from June 12 to 14, 2026, they will all set off together, driven by the same energy: that of pushing limits and sharing experiences. No matter the distance covered or the final time, the goal lies elsewhere — to live a weekend out of time, surrounded by mountains, smiles, and kindness. And while trail running is first and foremost about legs, this adventure will above all be a beautiful story of the heart.
